Cuban book printer Empresa de Artes Gráficas Federico Engels has started 2015 by ordering a manroland Uniset to extend production capability.

The Havana-based company is one of the country's largest printing houses.

The single-tower Uniset is rated at 75,000 cph will have two splicers and a maximum web width of 965 mm. A PFN 2:3:1 pin folder enables changes from tabloid to broadsheet and several book formats. It will also be equipped with manroland's PECOM extended automation system.

Drive and PECOM press controls of an existing Uniset are also being upgraded.

The company has other Uniset and Coroman presses, plus several Ronosets made by former manroland group member Plamag Plauen - used to print main Cuban newspaper Granma and several tabloid products for more than 30 years.

The new Uniset will be delivered late this year and starts production early in 2016.
