German printer and publisher Mayr Miesbach will install QI Press Controls automatic colour density system after "some persuasive talking" by the Dutch developer.
The mRC-3D registration and new IDS-3D colour controls will help the Miesbach company guarantee standards and reduce waste on the five-unit KBA C217 press it has installed: "From a technological point of view, these systems are helping us to forge ahead," says print manager Erwin Erler.
The plant is certified carbon-neutral, has the EU Ecolabel for sustainability and Einser-Azubi accreditation for the training, and environmental sustainability has been a twin concern with quality.
QI will install a fully automated solution consisting of two mRC-3D colour register cameras with AIMS and anti-embossing, three mRC-3D cut-off register cameras with AIMS, sidelay and remote control and two IDS-3D colour control cameras with RAS.
Mayr Miesbach Druckerei & Verlag was founded in 1876 by Georg Mayr and was held by members of his family until its sale in in 2007 to Dieter Bergemann, who runs the business with managing directors Ulrich Herzog and Siegfried Kaspar.
