Closing Australia's mX commuter daily has led to the loss of 19 print jobs, trade magazine Print21 has reported.

Following meetings this morning, AMWU officials are consulting on the 19 redundancies at the Westgate Park, Melbourne print site announced by News Corp Australia.

A union spokesperson said an entire afternoon press shift had lost their jobs. Crikey has reported than that redundancies are not planned for Sydney or Brisbane, where mX editions have also been closed.
