US-based Morris will use ProImage software to pull print together within its new MPS print unit.

As Morris Printing Services, it will use the company's NewsWay workflow to control and manage production from various front-end systems to output.

The Augusta Chronicle will act as main server hub, with another location providing redundancy and disaster recovery. The Lubbock (Texas) Avalanche-Journal site is being integrated into the system with upgrades at the Savannah Morning News and Florida Times-Union (Jacksonville). Each property will have its own custom workflow based on their individual production requirements and all four will have a streamlined receiver footprint.

In production, the Augusta hub will RIP, impose and send plate-ready TIFFs to each property, with the data replicated there for multiple plates.

ProImage's OnColor ECO ink optimisation software is also part of the order, which covers replacement of the local systems, centralised edition planning, ink presetting and output management.
