Goss and its local joint venture Shanghai Goss Graphic Systems are showing two new Chinese-built press configurations for semicommercial, book and newspaper printing on their stand at China Print 2009.
One is a Goss Magnum 4 press with a hybrid semi-commercial MV400 configuration and digital workflow. The versatile press with heatset, coldset and UV printing capabilities allows printing houses to produce a wide variety of work including newspapers, coated advertising inserts and magazines in high quality.
Live demonstrations of the WS-C300 book and newspaper printing press will also take centre stage. The press includes enhanced automation features developed specifically for the requirements of the Asian market. Both are manufactured at the company’s ISO quality certified manufacturing centre in Shanghai.
Goss says it will also highlight technologies that provide economical as well as environmental advantages by adding efficiency and reducing waste, ink, paper and energy levels. These include the new Goss Ecoset dryer – which has design enhancements to reduce energy consumption and emissions by 50 per cent or more – and new Goss Triliner press technology to reduce the cut-off of an existing press by a third. Presentations on the Goss M-600 Folia and FPS presses as well as Automatic Transfer, and Autoplate technologies, pinless folding, DigiRail digital inking and digital workflows will also be available, and Goss will emphasise its Lifetime Support programme.
Goss International chief executive Jochen Meissner says that as a global company, one of Goss’s sustainable strengths is the sharing of resources and technology know-how across multiple engineering and manufacturing hubs in Asia, Europe and North America.
“China is an important market for us, and we have built a strong sales and technical service team across the country to offer customized solutions and comprehensive support services,” he says.
Some 160,000 visitors from China and overseas are expected to attend China Print Beijing from May 12-16. The show has been the largest quadrennial printing exhibition in China since its establishment in 1984. Goss is in Hall W4, New China International Exhibition Center, Beijing during the five-day event.
