Taiwanese lends imagination to Aussie poll
While News Corp defends its ‘robust’ coverage of the Australian election, at least Taiwan’s Next Media Animation will be able to claim they had absolutely nothing to do with the result.
But that they had fun in the process.
The Taipei-based studio – which is a sister company of Jimmy Lai’s Apple Daily newspapers in Taiwan and Hong Kong – frequently finds it hard to resist a laugh from Australia’s politics.
This video was posted on their own Tomo channel only days before the poll.
It shows media representatives tying Julia Gillard to a pole before she suffers a knockout blow from Kevin Rudd… and goes up in flames.
The biggest threat from soon-to-be-prime-minister Tony Abbot appears to be death by boredom.
NMA delivers a fast-turnaround service to newspapers around the world – brief them with the storyline you wish you’d had vision for, and they’ll make up the rest – but so far the Aussie press has been slow to take up the offer. Wonder why?
