Colour management systems developer CGS Publishing Technologies has launched a new website to show off its Oris Color Tuner//Web, which it claims is the world’s first web-based contract proofing system.

The new software combines features from the parent Color Tuner with its soft and certified products within a client-server architecture and web environment. This enables real time viewing and certification of contract proof quality images worldwide.

Chief executive Trevor Haworth sees ‘web-to-print’ as the future for the printing and publishing industry: “What we have brought to market is a complete view-print-certify system that fits perfectly within that process and gives advertising agencies, print buyers and premedia companies a simple to use process for secure contract quality proofing.”

With job tracking based on experience in hot folder workflows, and an integrated dynamic database, the web product combines the control of remote printers and job queue management with the ease-of-use of the web. No special software is required at the client site and automatic calibration and certification of remote sites is easy.

CGS says the new internet pages – at www.cgs-oris.com – have been designed to encourage and facilitate the communication with customers worldwide and offer trial versions. Further language versions, in addition to English and German, are planned.
