Northern Italian newspaper publisher Athesis is reimagining its publishing systems in a deal with Atex.

Società Editrice Athesis will introduce multichannel content management and renew digital publishing infrastructure for its three daily newspapers L'Arena, Il Giornale di Vicenza and Brescia Oggi and associated websites.

A project including Atex Content H-11, the Polopoly web portal and Applix Viewer+ starts this month, and follows “thorough evaluation” of market opportunities.

The group publishes regional newspapers with a very well recognised brand and a strong and loyal readers base but they are facing the growing competition of local web sites and social. The group is also active in broadcasting with TeleArena, Brescia.TV, TeleMantova and RadioVerona.

A new working environment will allow newsrooms to be more agile in gathering and creating news – even in the field – and in promoting and distributing them over traditional, digital and social channels. Applix will provide an workflow for tablet publishing targeting all major mobile platforms.
