The Spokesman-Review in northwestern US is tackling obsolescence of OEM controls with an upgrade of its inserting systems.

Based in Spokane, Washington, the publisher has contracted Electronic Design Group and Newspaper Solutions to update its three inserters - a dual motor NP630 and two NP632s.

The upgrade for the Spokesman-Review will include a new PLC and migration to AC drives and motors from the older DC technology.
