Dubai-based Masar Printing & Publishing has added inline stitching to its Kodak/manroland digital newspaper line.

Maker Tolerans says development of an inline cylinder system for manroland's FoldLine is a world first, and will be followed by ribbon stitching systems.

Masar has the world's first Prosper 6000C inkjet web, claimed to be the world's fastest. The Tolerans Speedliner 2.0 Digital Cylinder uses the same technology as the company's systems for heatset and newspaper presses, adapted to suit collection of pages on a cylinder prior to delivery.
Chief executive Jan Melins says the new system not only enhances the printing process, but also the end result for customers. Close cooperation with partners, innovation and bespoke adaptions enabled its development.
