Roxen and its Benelux partner has secured the best of references in a new website and CMS for the Netherlands' second biggest city.

Bright Answers was one of 12 vendors last year vying for a chance to deliver the City of Rotterdam's new website, its Roxen-based references helping it to a top score.

In the next round, the five highest scoring vendors were asked to deliver a proof-of-concept, which was judged by a community panel of 2500 residents on design, layout, user-friendliness and social media. Entries were also tested and assessed by the website's editors, and Bright Answers' entry - based on the AppBuilder platform and the new Roxen CMS 17 editing tool - scored ten out of ten.

Bright Answers founder Peter Riemens says the combination of the Roxen CMS and their Roxen-based AppBuilder platform provides an easy-to-use user interface and makes it possible to rapidly create new web applications: "There was close collaboration between Roxen and Bright Answers both ahead of and during development of the website. Roxen's developers have worked hand in hand with the web consultants at Bright Answers and have been directly involved throughout the process to provide support."

The success is also a badge of honour for Roxen, whose founders claim Sweden's first web page - one of the first ten web pages in the world - in February 1993. "It's really great any time we receive an acknowledgement that we are continuing to develop and can outcompete other international players in an ambitious procurement process like this," says chief executive Per Östlund.
