Resilient Asian media market shows in awards

Resilience in the Asian media market was demonstrated by the strength of entries in this year's Asia Media Awards, presented at a gala dinner during the IfraExpo India/publishAsia conference in Chennai, India. The event - staged by the newly-merged WAN-Ifra, was held in India for the first time - honoured the best of the 472 entries received for this year's competition. The conference itself has also attracted 600 delegates its four parallel conferences, and some 50 exhibitors. Best in design, newspaper front page: gold– PT Republika Media Madiri for Republika Daily; silver– Apple Daily Taiwan; bronze– Ming Pao. Best in infographics: gold– Awraq Publishing for Emarat Al Youm; silver– Singapore Press Holdings for Berita Harian/Berita Minggu; bronze– Al Nisr Publishing for Gulf News.
