Japanese digital newspaper press vendor has announced a mono version of its Truepress Jet 520 – aimed at the 'read for pleasure' book market, claimed to be growing at 14 per cent a year.
The new inkjet derivative runs at 128 metres/minute.
Screen says it has extended its OEM agreement with InfoPrint Solutions, which is jointly owned by IBM and Ricoh.
More than 200 TruepressJet520 systems – launched in 2006 and also marketed as the InfoPrint 5000 – have been installed globally, with Screen claiming market leaderership in high-speed digital inkjet presses. The full-colour Jet520 was launched in 2006.
