Former SPH ideas man Geoff Tan has made a second move after leaving the Straits Times publisher in 2020 after a 34-year career.

Tan, who was most recently head of SPH’s Sweet creative and content marketing agency and managing director of SPH Magazines, is joining blockchain fintech company OIO Singapore as its chief marketing officer. He was previously chief ideas officer at B2B property management platform Really Singapore.

Tan had been approached by OIO chief executive Rudy Lim, and says he was “intrigued and then enthused” to be involved in evangelising blockchain, which he says, is “definitely here to stay.

“People need to be made aware of the significant impact this innovative peer-to-peer decentralised ledger technology can deliver to their sphere of involvement, both as personal investors and leaders in industry.”
