Some of Europe’s top newspaper printers have met up with vendor representatives again in WAN-Ifra’s Second European Printers Summit.

The two-day Frankfurt event – which GXpress last year likened to “speed dating” – attracted 14 industry suppliers for prearranged, timed face-to-face meetings with potential or pre-existing customers.

Round tables also tackled pressing topics such as distribution challenges and sustainable procurement, with new business opportunities also on the agenda.

Keynote speakers included Funke Medien chief sustainability and procurement officer Gundula Ullah and Axel Springer Print chief executive Bertram Stausberg.

Print Innovation award winners were also honoured, as well as new members of WAN-Ifra’s International Color Quality Club, where the Heilbronner Stimme was added to the ‘millenium club’ for newspapers that have taken part more than ten times.
