RIND Survey editor Sashi Nair has announced that this month’s print edition will be its last.
Published by the Chennai-based Press Institute of India’s Research Institute for Newspaper Development, the monthly journal will continue in digital form only as a PDF, with “select articles” uploaded to a redesigned website.
Nair says high printing costs and a rise in cost of packaging material such as covers and labels, coupled with a drastic fall in advertisement revenue, have made printing RIND Survey financially unviable.
“However, we continue to seek the support of subscribers and advertisers as we transition to digital and look at reaching out to more readers and subscribers,” he says.
