Panoply of industry events to plan and budget

INMA plans 21 events during 2024, including six in-person conferences and study tours.

Highlight of these is the annual World Congress of News Media, which returns to London from April 22-26. Executive director Earl Wilkinson promises “the best executive-level overview of news media in the world” with the conference supported by study tours and seminars.

The year begins with the Media Subscriptions Summit in New York (February 26-March 1), the association’s seventh such event and including a conference and study tour.

The focus moves to India in July for the two-day South Asia News Media Festival in New Delhi (July 23-26). The two-day conference is supported by an intensive two-day study tour in New Delhi, with INMA promising to guide attendees through prevailing and pertinent macro themes.

The Roundtable at Vail (August 21-23), described as “horizon planning for news media companies: an interactive retreat for media CEOs in a relaxed and confidential setting to identify growth paths over the next three years.

Media Innovation Week, Helsinki (September 23-27). INMA’s European News Media Conference promises rto be “practical and down-to-earth” with a programme of practitioners and doers. “Great for teams looking for inspiration and the holy grail of innovation,” says Wilkinson.

Los Angeles Tech Innovation Study Tour (October 21-25) delves into best practices in audio and video content, new technologies, and different commerce models that are driving the creator economy.

Five virtual master classes are planned, along with three virtual regional summits (including an Asia Pacific News Media summit in August).
