SCMP chief executive Catherine So and the heads of three Indian publishing groups are among 12 media executives appointed to INMA’s board of directors.
In addition to the South China Morning Post’s So, they are Praveen Someshwar (HT Media), Sivakumar Sundaram (Bennett Coleman and Co), and Bharat Gupta – whose board appointment has been made since the last business meeting – as president of the South Asia division.
Mediahuis (Belgium) chief executive Gert Ysebaert (pictured) was elected INMA president and will chair the association’s board for two years.
Schibsted Media (Norway) chief executive Siv Juvik Tveitnes was elected first vice president. She is scheduled to become INMA president in 2026.
Others elected to new board terms are Alexandra Beverfjord (Aller Media, Norway), Mark Campbell (Hearst, USA, also president of the North America division), Lotta Edling (Bonnier News, Sweden), and Carlos Nuñez Murias (Prisa Media, Spain).
Anna-Katharina Kölbl (Funke Medien, Germany), also appointed since the last business meeting, becomes chair of the Young Professionals Initiative committee.
Among those stepping down from the board are: Pawan Agarwal (Dainik Bhaskar, India), P.J. Browning (Evening Post Publishing, USA), Damian Eales (now chief executive of Move Inc/Realtor.com in the USA, having moved from Australia to NewsCorp USA), Chris Janz (Capital Brief, Australia), Troy Niday (Sonoma Media Investments, USA), and Martha Ortiz (El Colombiano, Colombia).
