A new English-language website for Vietnam’s largest newspaper ‘Tuoi Tre’ (Youth Daily) is Atex’s first Polopoly web CMS project in Asia. Designed to reach a local and overseas audience, www.tuoitrenews.vn blends emerging technology with effective communication tools to serve as an informative media service. Visitors can shop, advertise, play games, and learn electronically. Deputy editor Tang Huu Phong says the milestone website launch demonstrates the newspaper’s commitment to becoming a leading publication in Vietnam. Atex Asia-Pacific chief executive officer Ross Wood says Tuoi Tre News has developed a friendly and engaging site by creatively using all the tools and technologies available in Polopoly. “This was a strong team effort, accomplished in just three months, and we look forward to building on our association as the portal continues its growth and innovation,” he says. With a circulation of around 400,000, Tuoi Tre’s daily Vietnamese-language newspaper is the most widely read in the country, and its website, Tuoi Tre Online (www.tuoitre.vn), launched in 2003, is among the top five news websites in Vietnam, attracting five million hits daily.
