UPM has confirmed that it is engaged in discussions with Finnish publication paper company Myllykoski Group about a deal over its operations in Finland, Germany and the USA. The company says discussions are continuing but a number of significant issues remain unresolved. Therefore, there can be no certainty that the discussions between UPM, Myllykoski and its lenders will result in a transaction. UPM says it will announce the result of the discussion "if a conclusion is reached where public disclosure is appropriate under applicable laws", or if the discussions are terminated. UPM says it will not comment on the negotiations in any further detail.
