Newly-merged Schur Wamac has closed two deals for its mailroom equipment from daily newspapers in China. The Dazhong Daily Newspaper Group has placed an order with Schur Packaging Systems for an extension of their existing high speed mailroom at Shandong Dazhong Huatai Printing plant in Jinan. The order consists of two single-copy gripper conveyor lines, two high A 600 capacity stackers (pictured) and two strapping units. The group has also ordered four more strapping units for its existing four Schur stacking lines. The extension will be connected to a new KBA Commander press line and will handle the ‘Dazhong Daily’ – one of the country’s most popular provincial newspapers with a weekday handle circulation of 400,000 copies – as well as other titles. Managing director of Schur Packaging Systems Ulrik Sthaalros says the company is pleased to have Dazhong Daily Newspaper Group as a customer: “This order proves that the Schur mailroom equipment meets their high expectation of capacity and cost-efficiency.” The mailroom equipment will be shipped by the end of the year and installed in the first quarter of 2010. Schur Wamac stackers are also going to the ‘Nanjing Daily’, located in the eastern part of China. The company has again again chosen Schur Wamac TS 800 high speed stackers for their mailroom operation. Nanjing Daily has long experience of running this stacker model, the first of which was installed in 2002. The new stackers will be in operation by the end of 2009.
