System switch for Newsweek’s EMEA edition

A system change at the London office of Newsweek has put a spring in the step of the relaunched 80-year-old.

British integrator Selcom Systems installed vjoon’s K4 crossmedia publishing platform this month, and editions are already being produced with it.

The Europe, Middle East and Africa print edition – as well as that produced in New York for the USA – was revived in 2014, a couple of years after it had been discontinued. The weekly news magazine was founded in 1933 and acquired in 2013 by online media company IBT Media which also owns the International Business Times.

UK production editor Nick Passmore says the change has brought increased efficiency: “In just a couple of days the system was up and running and we could start production, enabling us to produce faster.

“We’re also convinced that it was a good investment for the future.”
