New Fairfax CIO as Lam-Po-Tang term ends

Fairfax Media has recruited Robyn Elliott from Foxtel as its new chief information officer.

She was previously chief information officer at pay TV provider Foxtel Australia, which she worked for from 1997-199 and from 2002 to last year. In between, she worked for IBM Global Services Australia as principal of customer relationship management and business intelligence. He background also includes roles at McIntosh Securities/Merrill Lynch and Accenture.

Chief executive Greg Hywood describes her as a tech leader with considerable experience in the Australian media sector: "She's highly commercial, has a track record delivering major change initiatives, and is a champion of using data to deliver better outcomes for customers."

She replaces Andrew Lam-Po-Tang at Fairfax later this month.
