Editor of Singapore's Straits Times Warren Fernandez is slated to discuss the SPH flagship's print and digital relaunch at News Design Asia in July.

Fernandez says the much-anticipated redesign will illustrate how the latest trends in newspaper design can be adapted to a quality Asian audience, and how a coherent user experience with strong brand recognition is being achieved across all platforms and with different suppliers.

The Straits Times case study will also illustrate how the design of a clear business and editorial strategy has been key to the revamping of its digital offerings.

News Design Asia - in Kuala Lumpur from July 28-30 - will bring top designers and graphic experts from leading media organisations to share their most inspiring practices and give insights for the production of attractive and impactful news visual elements, organisers WAN-Ifra say.

The conference will also include speakers from Fairfax Media, Poynter Institute/Society for News Design, Thomson Reuters, MediaCorp, Al Bayan and Media Indonesia.
