Protecmedia has a new exclusive distributor in Italy with the appointment of WillBit.

Willbit chief executive Ruben Porporato says Italian editors were waiting for a new player. "We're sure that this partnership will breathe fresh life into the market," he says.

Willbit will sell and implement projects, providing first level support for the Milenium crossmedia editorial solutions in the editorial area. They bring Protecmedia's solutions - used in more than 500 publications in 25 countries - to Italy for the first time.

Protecmedia marketing director Juan Eloy Martín says a policy of having a close relationship with each market and each client - so that products meet their needs - could only be achieved through either direct presence or a partnership with highly qualified local companies such as WillBit".

"The digital era is accentuating the specific features of each market and, as a result, newspapers have to establish closer and more direct relationships with their technological partner, so that they can react quickly to change," he says. "We are sure that, through this agreement, we have achieved this for the Italian market, since WillBit is a well-known firm, with vast experience, being implemented in many newspapers."

Porporato says that, more than ever before, "today's technological choices are strategic and can enable tomorrow's results.

"We are sure that the alliance with a global software company, together with our deep and lengthy knowledge of the Italian market's needs, will lead to further success. Italian editors were waiting for a new player, and we are sure that this partnership will breathe new life into the market".

Willbit chose Protecmedia "because of its exclusive focus on the publishing market, the full coverage of editors' needs in terms of software solutions, expertise and vision, and its proven international presence with hundreds of installations.

"Milenium Cross Media is ready for the challenges of the future, with complete control over publications in newspapers, magazines, web, mobile and apps. Its modular nature and scalability will allow us to provide customers of any size with tailored configurations, even in cloud-based scenarios."
