A new responsive HTML authoring tool and InCopy integration are key elements of Managing Editor's TruEdit upgrade.
Version 2.0 of the cloud-based collaborative workflow system keeps the entire HTML creation and design process inside the same workflow. The release sees the debut of TruAuthor, MEI's native HTML authoring tool for publishing to the web and mobile apps. Output is responsive - meaning the format automatically responds to that of the reader's device - so that a single application can be used to generate engaging experiences for web, mobile and social media channels.
Addition of an InCopy plug- means users can create and revise files in collaboration with others using InDesign for page layout.
TruEdit enables teams to create, track, distribute and measure all digital and print content, meet the demands of continuous publishing to digital channels and shorten the time to market.
MEI managing director Mark Leister says the future of digital publishing lies within responsive HTML design: "TruAuthor has arrived to fill that need," he says. "TruAuthor works directly inside of TruEdit giving us a single launch point for content generation that publishes to multiple channels."
