Three Swedish digital publishing developers have teamed to introduce America East delegates to their products... and favourite tipple.
Roxen's collaborative CMS for print and digital, Tulo's subscription and monetisation products, and video platform Lemonwhale are all based in Sweden, and are in Hershey to present their products as an integrated solution for small and midsizes. Nine of the ten-strong delegation are from Sweden, with one based in the US.
"We have combined our technologies to provide a complete solution for newsroom IT and editorial revenue," says Roxen chief executive Per Ostlund. "The logic is that small publishers are confronted with essentially the same market drivers and technological challenges as the big media houses - but they do not have the resources to employ hundreds of people to develop in-house solutions to these challenges, or to scout the market for a piece of software that addresses each of their needs - and pay for the integration between those pieces.
"Instead we provide these pieces, already integrated and covered by our support - so no 'blame-game' between vendors."
To open lines of communication, the trio sponsored the AmEast16 welcome reception, introducing delegates to traditional vodka-and-lingonberry drink Wolfpaw. They also dared to bring Swedish chocolate to the show, "a bit like swearing in church," says Ostlund.
