A German science funding institution has recognised ppi Media's commitment to research and development.
The Donor's Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities (Stifterverband für die deutsche Wissenschaft) is one of the largest such institutions in Germany and has been awarding its 'Innovation through research' seal to companies since 2014.
The award is based on an annual survey commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research.
ppi Media chief technology officer Jan Kasten says fewer and one per cent of Germany's more than 3.5 million companies carry out research: "We are delighted that our commitment to research is being acknowledged.
"Developing new and innovative software products for the media industry and the investment into research linked to this are a central pillar of our company culture."
ppi Media has been producing software for the media industry focusing on automated newspaper production since 1984, investing extensively in research and development.
One of its products is the innovative multi-channel editorial system, Content-X.
The Donor's Association for the Promotion of Science and Humanities in Germany has been promoting education, science and innovation for almost a century. A joint initiative of companies and foundations, it aims to improve the conditions for scientific work by funding programmes and through initiatives.
