A partnership between News Corp's Kayo and Australian telco Telstra will see the NRL and ARL Live apps integrated.
Telstra chief executive Andy Penn told a launch event that streaming had "moved on" since the launch of Live Pass in 2012. Among changes, Foxtel subsidiary Kayo - now the country's premium sports streaming service - is no longer part-owned by Telstra.
The deal sees Telstra offering more than 50 sports across multiple platforms, and the Telstra Live Pass within the AFL Live app and NRL Live app replaced by Kayo.
Kayo has been experimenting with a 'freemium' tier Kayo Freebies product, while competitor Stan Sport has upped its offering.
