Publishers frightened of being sued over reader remarks on Facebook are looking at a return to the platform after it announced plans to enable limiting or disabling comments.
Facebook product manager Ramya Sethuraman said in a post that the new option - already being rolled out - will be completed in coming weeks.
Facebook says limiting who can comment on an organic public post may impact its distribution. The feature is also not available to use on ads and will not automatically apply to a shared posts. Facebook have also introduced a snooze function and the ability to turn off political ads.
