After two years promoting brands such as Fitness First and Jetts, Kristin Carlos will head up News Corp Australia’s digital platform business, which includes SME provider News Xtend.

Carlos – who becomes managing director, commercial platforms – has been chief customer officer at Fitness and Lifestyle Group, which owns on-demand digital health and fitness business Loup in addition to its physical health clubs.

She was previously with Qantas – responsible for digital strategy and commercialisation including the airline’s wifi portal – and spent a year with Facebook as ANZ head of media partnerships. Her longest spell has been with Yahoo in its Yahoo7 days, in a range of roles including director of connected entertainment, from 2006-2014.

Carlos’ brief at News is to evolve Xtend and its Platform division to provide “a seamless, end-to-end customer experience” to a variety of clients.
