Four distinct ‘days’ focus on subscriptions, data, alternative revenue, and advertising, during WAN-Ifra’s upcoming Digital Media Asia virtual conference.

And if you’re quick, organisers are offering complimentary access if you register by July 30.

The conference runs from August 24-27, with Tomas Bella (pictured) from Slovakia’s Denník N and moderator Andiara Petterle of Brazil’s RBS Group Brazil headlining the first day (August 24).

Denník N launched in 2014 and has built a profitable business purely on reader revenue with 65,000 active subscribers and 1.5 million unique readers – nearly a third of the country's population – contributing to an expected profit for the year of 1 million Euros.

The programme continues to ‘leveraging the funnel’ to grow reader revenue, with participants from Facebook’s APAC Accelerator programme, Tan Lee Chin of Malaysia’s Sin Chew Media and Chia Lun Huang from CommonWealth Magazine in Taiwan

Director Rasmus Nielsen presents highlights from the Reuters Digital News Report, while a contribution from Amedia's chief data scientist Igor Pipkin discusses their year-long “churn-busting effort” around engagement and loyalty.

On Wednesday (August 25) the programme turns to Data and Analytics – from how to build a data operation, to implementing the appropriate data stack – with Thursday (August 26) dedicated to Alternate Revenues, including opportunities in e-commerce and marketplaces, and how publishers can monetise newsletters, podcasts and video.

Finally, Friday (August 27) is Digital Advertising Day, with attention turning to the paradigm shift in the transition to a cookie-less world and the need for high-quality first party data.

Programme and other details are here.
