An increasing focus on data has seen News Corp appoint Louise Cooper to lead its enterprise-wide data strategy in Australia.

With more than 15 years’ data experience – most recently as head of data analytics, insights and AI at Qantas – she has been named director of data strategy and management. She also worked in insurance and financial services, telecommunications and energy.

The wide-ranging role sees Cooper responsible for data needs across the entire Australian operation. News Corp Australia’s chief technology officer, data and digital, Julian Delany says data has become “the engine room that informs decision-making” across the enterprise and the appointment is part of a commitment to amplifying their focus. “This is undoubtedly one of our businesses’ most valuable assets, bringing enormous strategic value and a significant point of difference for News Corp Australia as we continue to grow our capabilities, business insights and new revenue opportunities.”
